Dee Mill
Dee Mill is the godfather of the group Art of ILL Fusion, which has had several different versions over the last 13 years. All the while , he has been honing his craft, and perfecting his song writing and his tone which is ripe perfectly for this current model of band. This is also the longest touring version of the band, which, has allowed for some great meshing in improv expansion in the live show and on record.
Dee has sat in over the years with everybody from Umphrey's Mcgee, Moe, Leftover Salmon, The Schwag, Old shoe, and The Lee Boys. He has also toured in a few side projects, most notable with Willie Waldman Project which has included touring with Fareed Haque, and Stax Records Legends : Herman Green (BB King , James Brown) Cecil McDaniel (Stevie Wonder) Terry Saffold (Al Green, Isaac Hayes, Marvin Gaye ). As well as different versions of the Joe Marcinek Band including Jason Hann ( String Cheese Incident ) Jesus Coomes (Lettuce), Joey Porter (The Motet), Steve Molitz (Particle) and Pennal Johnson. He has played just about every small to large festival in the midwest. He also was spawned from the road and spending his youth and early adulthood, traveling the country seeing his favorite bands, while studying the business , and watching every detail of what it takes to put on a rock show. He is also the nephew of Ike Willis , who was Frank Zappa's longest touring guitarist and vocalist.
Dee has also studied various artists that he draws influence from including Jerry Garcia, Frank Zappa, Steve Kimock, Trey Anastasio, and Jimmy Herring . Dee has been playing guitar for over 20 years now and has taught himself almost every note.
