Chris Traynor

Chris TraynorOne of the most electrifying guitarists in rock today, Chris Traynor has a multi-flavored resume that includes collaborations with artists ranging from Bush, Katy Perry, and Blur to Helmet, Orange 9mm, and Dave Stewart. Chris has studied guitar with the likes of Mark Lonergan from Band of Susans, Richard Lloyd of the rock band Television, Robert Fripp's Guitar Craft, and bluegrass phenomenon Michael Daves. His impressive list of credits includes soundtrack work with Blue Man Group, Escape From L.A. and Criminal Minds, and tenure with acclaimed indie rock band Rival Schools. A native New Yorker, Traynor came of age during the early 90s post-hardcore scene as a founding member of highly influential rock band Orange 9mm. He recorded three albums with the group before joining seminal rock band Helmet in 1996. In 2001, he joined the multi-platinum rock band Bush and began a long and successful creative partnership with Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale. The two collaborated on the post-Bush band Institute and Rossdales 2008 solo album, Wanderlust, which featured the hit single Love Remains The Same. In fall of 2011, a reunited Bush self-released The Sea of Memories, their first studio album in ten years. The album marked the bands return to the top of the charts, with lead single The Sound Of Winter making rock radio history as the first self-released single ever to hit No. 1 on the Alternative Radio Chart (where it stayed for six consecutive weeks). Hailed by Rolling Stone as a vital viva-la-grunge manifesto, The Sea of Memories was produced by Bob Rock (Aerosmith, Metallica) and spotlights Traynors passionate style of play on songs like The Afterlife, The Sound of Winter and Baby Come Home. Traynors melodic savvy and unique tone give the songs a sleek textured vibe while maintaining Bushs trademark sound. The band celebrated the albums release by launching a headlining tour that saw them playing to packed-house crowds around the world.
