Charlie Rose

Boston based multi-instrumentalist Charlie Rose started out as a youngster playing piano and trombone, but quickly became obsessed with the guitar. As a teenager he studied jazz and music theory with some great teachers in the Kansas City area. His first year of college was spent studying music, but he ended up getting a Geology degree. That didn't keep him from learning banjo, bass, and mandolin, however, and shortly after graduating he set out to get a job playing music.

Since then he has worked with many great acts including the Asylum Street Spankers, Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion, Mike and Ruthy of The Mammals, Chris O'Brien, Mark Erelli, and the Crooked Jades. He currently plays pedal steel guitar, upright bass, and banjo with Jonathan Edwards.
