Impulse Response Development
When Eminence set out to create Impulse Response (IR) profiles of some its legendary guitar speakers, recruiting Michael Britt was a clear choice.
A professional guitarist for more than 26 years with country group Lonestar, Britt has spent decades chasing tone onstage and in the studio. He has also become renowned for creating exceptional-sounding IRs compatible with Kemper, Helix, Fractal, and other amp-modeling platforms.
Using his extensive experience profiling amps and speakers, Britt meticulously created Eminence’s IR library. Each speaker was captured in a carefully selected cabinet designed accurately reveal the speaker’s character.
Each IR package includes seven microphone variations: Shure and Sennheiser dynamics; Royer ribbon; and Neumann condenser. Sampling rates of 44.1, 48, and 96 kHz are included for maximum compatibility.
As Britt puts it, “Profiling speakers is more of an art than an exact science.” The result is a collection of IRs designed to capture the authentic character and tone of Eminence speakers with exceptional faithfulness.
